Cookie Policy

1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device to remember something from one page to the next, or from one visit to the next: the language you chose, what is in your cart, or whether you are signed in.
Browsers also have other ways of storing things —localStorage and IndexedDB— which are not technically cookies but do the same job, and the law treats them the same way. This site mostly uses those: in the table below almost everything is local storage and there is only one real cookie.
2. The types we use
3. What this site stores in your browser
This is the full list. You can check it yourself: in Chrome or Edge, F12 → Application → Storage.
| Name | Set by | Type | Duration | What for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ob_lang | omniboothstudio.com cookie | Functional | 1 year | The language you choose to read the site in, so we don't ask again. |
ob_cookie_consent | omniboothstudio.com local storage | Essential | Until you delete it | What you decided about cookies, so the notice isn't shown on every visit. |
ob_cart | omniboothstudio.com local storage | Essential | Until you delete it | What you have in the cart, so it isn't lost when you change page. |
ob_checkout_nameob_checkout_email | omniboothstudio.com local storage | Essential | Until you delete it | The name and email you type when buying, so you don't have to repeat them if you go back. |
ob_pending_sale | omniboothstudio.com local storage | Essential | Until the purchase is finished | Remembering a purchase in progress while you come back from the payment page. |
ob_ref | omniboothstudio.com local storage | Functional | Until you delete it | If an affiliate sent you here, remembering who did so we can pay their commission. |
firebaseLocalStorageDb | Google Firebase IndexedDB | Essential | Until you sign out | Keeping you signed in if you create an account. Only used if you register. |
__stripe_mid__stripe_sid | Stripe cookies, on Stripe's own domain | Essential | 1 year / 30 minutes | Payment security and fraud prevention. They only appear when you pay, and Stripe sets them on its own page, not us. |
If we ever add measurement or marketing cookies, they will only run if you give permission from the notice or the buttons at the top of this page, and this table will be updated first.
4. How we count visits (without cookies)
We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party tool to measure. We count visits with our own program, hosted on our own server, and it is built to know as little as possible:
- It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
- We do not store your IP address. It is used for an instant to work out the country and to calculate an anonymous code, and then discarded.
- That anonymous code is an irreversible digest of your IP and your browser, mixed with a secret key and the current month: it exists so we don't count you twice on the same day, it changes every month and it cannot be unwound to reach you.
- What is recorded: the page you saw, which site you came from, the country, the kind of device, the browser and how long you stayed. None of that identifies you.
- The data is not shared with anyone and never leaves our server.
That is why this measurement does not depend on you accepting cookies: there are none to accept. Even so, if you switch measurement off in the preference centre, we respect your choice.
5. Third parties your browser requests files from
Even though they set no cookies on our site, some companies receive your IP address because your browser asks them for files in order to display the page. For transparency, they are:
- Google (Firebase): the accounts and sign-in system.
- Stripe: the payment gateway, only when you buy.
- Cloudflare and unpkg: they serve the styles and animations.
- Font Awesome and Google Fonts: the icons and typefaces.
6. Legal basis
- Essential and functional: no consent required, because without them the service you asked for does not work.
- Measurement and marketing: they require your prior, informed consent (ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, Article 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before you withdrew it.
7. How to change your choice
7.1 On this website
Click “Manage cookies” in the footer of any page, or use the buttons at the top of this one.
7.2 In your browser
You can also block or delete what websites store from your browser settings. Bear in mind that blocking everything may stop parts of the site from working:
8. International transfers
Google and Stripe may process data outside the European Economic Area. Both offer the safeguards the GDPR requires: EU Standard Contractual Clauses and adherence to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Measurement data, by contrast, never leaves our server in the European Union.
9. Children
This site is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update it if the technology, the regulations or our services change. The date at the top always shows the latest revision. If the change is significant, we will show you the notice again so you can decide afresh.
