It's happened to you for sure: you're about to start an event with your 360 platform or 360 photobooth, and suddenly the app can't find the GoPro you usually work with. There can be several reasons: you've switched smartphones, the app has updated, some previous pairing data got wiped, or you're simply breaking in a new GoPro.
Whatever the reason, the fix is the same: pair the camera with the app again. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to do it from scratch with Omnibooth 360 Studio.
GoPro or the smartphone's own camera?
With Omnibooth Studio you can also record directly with your smartphone's own camera, with no extra accessories needed. That said, most of our users prefer to work with a GoPro, since its image quality, stabilization, and wide-angle lens make it the best choice for a professional 360 booth or 360 videobooth.
Step by step: pairing your GoPro with Omnibooth 360 Studio
Follow these steps and you'll have your GoPro ready to record in a matter of seconds:
- Turn on your GoPro and go into Settings / Preferences.
- Open the Connections section and put the camera into pairing mode, just as you would to connect it with the official GoPro app. In this case we'll do it with the Omnibooth 360 Studio app.
- Open the Omnibooth 360 Studio app on your smartphone and go into the Camera section.
- Select the GoPro option and tap the magnifying glass icon to search for the camera. The search is done via Bluetooth.
- When the app finds your GoPro, select it from the list and tap Connect GoPro.
- Wait a few seconds: the app will automatically establish the WiFi connection through the GoPro itself.
And that's it. From that point on you'll be able to record and operate perfectly with your GoPro connected to your smartphone, with no need to bring a laptop to the event.
GoPro WiFi and mobile data at the same time, no conflicts
One of Omnibooth 360 Studio's biggest strengths is that, even while your smartphone is connected to the GoPro via WiFi, the app still uses mobile data for everything else. This means you'll never lose internet access during the event, and you can keep uploading files and sending them to guests with no problem, even with the GoPro connected.

Work with no laptop, with total freedom
Thanks to this pairing system, your 360 platform can run entirely from your smartphone: GoPro camera connected via WiFi, mobile data active for uploading files, and no cables or computer needed. That's how simple it is to work with Omnibooth Studio at any 360 photobooth or 360 booth, event after event.
